He sent his best wishes to Shehbaz Sharif, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidate and the country’s newly elected prime minister. Following Shehbaz Sharif’s oath of office as prime minister of Pakistan, Prime Minister Modi congratulated him on his appointment. On Sunday, Shehbaz Sharif received 201 votes in parliament to win a second term as prime minister of Pakistan. The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), led by Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, and his party, the PML-N, will form the coalition government.

The head of the PML-N, Nawaz Sharif, proposed his brother, Shehbaz Sharif, to be prime minister, while Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, a devoted member of the party, was named speaker of the national assemblyMaryam Nawaz, the daughter of Nawaz Sharif, will take over as the chief minister of Punjab province as per the agreement between the PML-N and PPP. On February 26, Maryam Nawaz, Nawaz’s political heir, took the oath of office and became the nation’s first female chief minister in any province. Asif Ali Zardari, the PPP’s senior leader, was proposed as Pakistan’s next president in the second section of the agreement.In the February 8 election, the PML-N, led by Sharif, came in second. Although the opposition candidates backed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), the former prime minister Imran Khan, garnered the most seats, they were unable to build a legislative majority.
